The Lamb, Slain from the Foundation of the World…

Some have accused God of being less than omnipotent (all-powerful); that He simply wasn’t able to prevent Satan’s rebellion and the subsequent enticement of Man that followed.   Many have said that God must be less than omniscient (all-knowing), that the almost immediate rebellion of those He created, both angelic and human, must have caught God off guard; forcing Him into Plan B, to launch a “rescue operation” of Mankind.   Most are certain that God is not omnibenevolent (all-loving), because He has declared that “…narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it… (Matthew 7:14). Doesn’t this whole story from the Scriptures seem to be a bit half-baked? Did God really know what He was getting into?

The answer is found, surprisingly, in the very last book of the Bible. John’s narrative in Revelation chapter 13 describes the future rise of the Antichrist and his brief reign over the whole Earth. In verse 8, we learn that the majority of those living at that time will worship and give their allegiance to The Beast, with a notable exception…
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8).”

Here, God reveals what His plan was before His Son ever uttered the words, “Let there be light!” Before the Trinity ever said, “Let us make man in our image… in the image of God…” Before God “stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth.” Before Lucifer declared, “…I will exalt my throne above the stars of God…” Before any of that! God had already declared that His Son, “the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world,” would be sacrificed “for the sins of the whole world!”

There was no mistake, this was no accident; Jesus was not Plan B… It was God’s Plan from the very beginning; the very God of Creation, sacrificing Himself for you and me, so that we could become “the sons of God.” It was the only way this thing could work… Had there been a better way, then the all-knowing, all-powerful, all loving God of all Creation would have done that instead!

There are many things we do not understand about the mind of God and His plan and purpose for creating this world as He did… But of this rest assured; God is not weak, God is not surprised, and God does indeed love you, so much “that he gave his only begotten son…” And that was His plan from the very beginning…

      1. Is. 57:15 Says that God inhabits eternity. This truth has brought so many deep truths to light for me. God’s Omniscience and Onipresence are so closely intwined that they cannot be seperated. He is not only everywhere at once, He is every once at where. His “Amness” is mind blowing. God cannot lie because in God’s economy everything He ever said is in the “AM” He is the Great I AM.

  1. People fail to understand the true nature of free-will and it’s causal relationship in the universe. Seems to be at the root of blaming God for our choices and their consequences instead of us owning them.
